tip of the day

when you have a lot of debris from sandpaper distressing on your work table use a dry swiffer cloth to take it all away! i love using swiffer cloths to clean up my projects and remove debris from my work station because they grab everything!

burning the midnight oil

i was up all night(and i almost slept all day~lol). i didn't get into bed until 0430 this morning. i was down in my scrap room working on some new projects. when i finally emerged from down there i discovered, upon looking at the clock on the stove, that it was after 4 am.
so let me tell you about this card. i learned how to create this tri-fold pocket card from a tutorial at splitcoast stampers . it's by beate johns. you should check out that site, if you haven't. there are truly brilliant and creative ideas available there and awesome women to become friends with! i'm still not sure what this card will be for, so i haven't put any sentiments or anything on it. it's still a work in progress, i guess. i used the silhouette creative basics b&t paper, desert sand cs, and the ribbon included in the creative basics pack. i am in love with the silhouette line of papers. close to my heart never ceases to amaze me with the new paper designs they come up with each season. i used the boho blossoms punch (you can purchase that punch through my lovely friend dawn rapsas) to make the flower. i did paper piercing, corner rounder scalloping and distressing techniques, as well, to complete the look of the card. let me know what you think. thanks for looking! abrazos,
bella
p.s. i actually took these pics with my cellphone; seems not much better than my scanner! :0/

a successful marriage requires...

i made this card for our dear niece nicole when she got married in the summer of '06. the stamp set i used for the card is close to my heart's fairy couple. a few other things i used for this card are: cream cs, mulberry paper, embossed floral paper, green organdy ribbon, a quote printed on vellum, a spiral clip, shimmer chalks and a prima flower. i love fairies, butterflies, dragonflies, and honey bees; so, you're sure to see quite a few projects with them! let me know what you think. thanks for looking!

p.s. i made this card before i became a ctmh consultant.

lilli's book

these are a few layouts i did for my sweet niece lilli's baby scrapbook. my fil took the pictures while they were still in the sheet protectors. i tried to crop them so you could see the pages i'm more fond of. i am a perfectionist at times and i was not really pleased with everything i made and put in the book, but the g*d's most beautiful thoughts bloom into children page is my favorite. in the my first bath lo i made the little terry cloth towel and black hanger by hand. in the my first home lo i made it so when you open the door there's a frame in there for the pic of her first room. thanks for looking.

pretty in pink

this is another card i created for the swap. i made this card in the regular criss cross card style. i used the more to adore papers by close to my heart. i know, i know, i really need a digital camera so i can stop scanning my art. lmk what you think of the card. thanks for looking!

my first card swap

i recently signed up for a criss cross card swap. i was really excited to be involved in a swap! it was a 6/5 swap. i got them done really quickly, too! i was so grateful i did, because i caught the flu on my birthday and it's been the pits trying to get over it. this card was done in the "standard criss cross card" style with the new close to my heart sarsaparilla paper. i paper pierced the word dude from the b&t paper and distressed everything with sandpaper and black ink. i'm not sure if the scanned image does it justice. lmk what you think!
